Vintage handmade lace.

I would like to show you some of my vintage lace,
I keep it safely packed away because it is so delicate and rips easily.
This one is about 2 m. long and 50 cm. wide, could have been used to cover the hair.

Here is a close up of the handwork, there are some flowers and leaves that are applied separately
onto the work, I wonder how long it took to make this cover.

This is today's work, another sample seat cushion, after the O.K. I will need to make six of them.

A vintage table cover, with cherubs, perfect to keep out for Valentine's day.

Last week I found this amazing fabric and this is what I used it for.

A close-up of the material shows how the flowers and leaves are raised above the rest of the material.

Here are some details on the bolster, I know it doesn't really show it's a bolster under all that lace..

  13. Angella, this bolster is gorgeous!! It makes we want to organize my sewing room to get to all that wonderful fabric I have "hidden" in there! you have NO IDEA just how FULL my sewing room is, it is so embarrassing, I will not even take a picture.... I can barely get around in the toom there are trails to the sewing machine, ironing board, and my cross stitch "vanity" full of embroidery floss and cross stitching supplies. I will need to get it all out! making plans here! I think I need a litte cottage in my backyard just for sewing and stuff....hehehe!! If I could have anything I wanted in th world, it would be a guest cottage, that I could also use as a small gift store in between times that guests come! Yeah, that is probably what I would want....
