Pretty Bows

I've been bitten by the Bow Bug!

Ribbon Bows,
Silk Bows...
I saw this one at Rachel Ashwell's site
and I just had to have one!
so I made my own.

Here I added bows to a set of pillows.

They will be used with vintage iron garden chairs.

I've booked our flights,
rented a car from Avignon train station
and a nice house next to the Ardeche river.
Countdown started to the 21st of July!

I will highlight all the markets I wish to visit.
The lavender fields are still blooming at that time,
I just love the sights and smells from
the south of France.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Busy Week

This week I managed to finish many projects
and I think they turned out great.
I love this boudoir seat, the pink and brown contrast
looks so nice.

The pink lace has a bit of brown and
a hint of glitter thread in it.

and
a pillow to match.

It will be hard to part with these two cushions.
I've seen some bloggers making lace book covers and
hearts with lots of different laces which I like to make.
I tried to decorate my cushions with a cut up doily and some flowers,
I love the result.

This one is a bit too neat!
I still didn't get the hang of it...

This is boudoir seat number two..
in sweet pink and cream.

Did you notice the cute print, soft pink stripes with
hand mirrors and lots of little roses.
 I've learned the hard way...
if you love the material.. get the whole roll!

I hope you are having a lovely week.

Covered Bin

Look what I found at IKEA...
A perfect little bin or it could be a plant pot.
It is made of metal and has a pierced lace design border.

I will use it for waste paper or any dry disposals
or find a plastic liner to protect it from rusting.

I added a band of Velcro
to keep the little skirt in place.

A few more things I made this week.
A dolls trolley...

A few cushions..

and a baby pouch that is matching with the
Moses basket in my previous post.

I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Linen Moses Basket

Today I finished this pretty cream linen Moses Basket.
The mother to be, wanted a gold coloured bow to decorate the basket.
I used Dupioni silk for the bow because it is a bit
stiff, so it can be shaped nicely.

I'm not too sure about the top bow...
a few stitches removed and off it comes.

This time I added a cotton frill to the top of
the blanket, I think it looks cute.

Here the basket stands waiting with open arms,
welcoming the new baby

Little girls need a Moses basket too!

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Guest Towels

A friend of my is moving into a new home and I
made her a few towels for the guest bathroom.

I started with a strip of material, about 60 cm long
and 10 cm. wide.
Then stitched a seam on the bottom and sides.

My machine gathers when I put both settings
in the highest number.
I added a nice cotton lace to the material strip
and gathered them together.

Here I stitched them both on the edge of a small towel.
I put it on the edge so there is more towel left.

To finish it off, I added a nice trim to hide the raw edges.

Not to forget the covered soap,
now put it all in a decorated basket.

Perfect! to welcome guests in a romantic style..

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
