Silk Baby Pouches

I love the lace I on the front of this baby pouch.
It's off white and great to use for many things.

Here with a pink background to highlight the pattern.

It even stands out with a cream background.

On a little bolster with a striped base...

Sigh! I just love my lace...

I hope you have a wonderful week.
Hugs.

I'll be joining in with Cindy at Show and Tell Friday

Tom Yummmm Soup

As you can see we love the Global Village!
Yesterday we went back for the third time this week
and took some more pictures.

I think this one was taken in Turkey, aren't these lamps pretty?

When Yasmin, my eldest daughter who lives in France,
knew we were going, the only thing on her mind was
Tom Yum sea food soup from the Thai village..
and she requested a picture.

Here is Nadia hard at work...

Baby Wipes Holders Tutorial

Today I made these cute holders: one for wet wipes
and one to hold a few diapers for mothers on the go.

I cut 2 pieces of cotton material 48cm. x 23cm.
with a layer of wading in between.

After fixing the lace to the front side,
stitch the back material to it.
Zigzag all around it.

Here I show where to leave the opening
of the lace for pockets.

This opening is lined up for the opening
of the wet wipes packet that will be inserted.
I first zigzagged the shape that will be cut out.

To hide the stitching I added the lace.

I added bias tape to the short edge.

Fold the piece in three and finish the edges with bias tape.

The second holder is a bit bigger, 62cm. x 26cm.
This one will hold a few baby items to put in the diaper bag.

Here I used a few layers of lace to make the back pocket.

I like using striped material, it is easier to line up the lace
to keep it perfectly straight.

In the same way as the first one, fold in three,
but in this one I left the flap a bit shorter.

Add a few flowers and a bow to finish it off.

This week I will be joining in with

Please come and visit.

Toy Bag

Today I finished a toy bag that can be tied to a crib.

I have been busy making a Moses basket and
a few flat pillows to carry the baby on.

I love this oval shaped lace, it can be used in the length like in the picture
or cut individually.
It only comes in white so I colour it in tea.

I still have to make a few items to finish this set,
hopefully tomorrow I'll show you the rest.

Have a lovely week,
Hugs.

Persian Carpets

Every year in Dubai there is an activity called Global Village,
this is a place where many countries come together and show their crafts
and traditions, it has been running for the last 15 years.
It runs for about four months in the cooler season.
Today I would like to show you the Iranian pavilion with their beautiful
hand made carpets, the colours and designs are stunning.

These pictures show you the underside of the carpets.

Aladdin couldn't make up his mind...

Look at the knots on these beauties, so fine and tidy.

Here is the front of Persian art.

So many patterns to choose from.

Seven layers of design.

I hope you enjoyed me taking you along to Global Village.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs.
