Lace bed cover, Roses and Velvet ribbons

Yesterday, I bought these beautiful roses,
they are the perfect shade of pink
with a hint of green..
I thought to show them off with my
newly made bed-throw.

I made the bed-throw with lace, the pink that is showing
underneath is my quilt cover.

For this round cushion I used silk with a lace center.

I love this lace with the little oval shapes,
it is made with a high percentage of cotton
so it feels very soft.

I hope you have a lovely week.

A Sweet Pink Moses Basket

This week I had to catch up with late orders.
Rushing, trying to go a little faster, doesn't work!
I've cut and pricked my fingers too many times
and I'm typing with plasters now..
Never mind!
See what I've finished today..
Pink Silk goodness!

This time the client wanted a removable skirt
to cover the legs of the Moses basket stand.

I like to lift up the canopy with this oval
hanger, it can be lowered or removed completely.

This is how the stand looks like after removing the
Moses basket.
It would look great with a few cushions, some
dolls and teddies when not in use.

Ready to visit Grandma..

I used some pretty floral cotton material for the bedding.

Here you can see the cover of the handles.
I always add a heavy band
alongside the handles and running down and under
the basket to make the basket more safe.
You are not supposed to carry the baby in the basket
while moving it, but who likes to wake up a little baby?
So now the handles are supported and stronger!

Not to forget a matching Baby Nest..

Did you notice the mint green velvet details on this set?

My daughter is hard at work
 starting her own website.
A Brocante shop with many goodies
we've collected at auctions over the years.
It will be a good excuse to travel more often
to hunt for antiques and collectibles.
It will also include some of my new designs
and creations.
The good thing about her shop is..
she has payPal...
This tissue box cover will be for sale in her shop.

Have you noticed... you can now
subscribe to my posts by e-mail and never miss a
a frilly moment...

I hope you are having a great week.

Flat Tissue Cover Tutorial

How many more ways to hide those tissues?

These are flat tissue covers, I hid half a tissue box's
contents in it.

I used three layers of lace on each side.
Even if I tried, I couldn't add any more...

Here I will show you how I made these:
I used padded material (remember my new blanket?)
27 x 30 cm.
On the long side I stitched bias-band to
the sides and added this trim.

Here I stitched a long layer of lace on
each side.

Then a shorter second layer.

Then an even shorter one..

The next step has no picture.
To hide the raw edges of the lace,
I stitched on a wide trim.
Then I sewed Velcro on the inside as shown.
The one in the middle is the male side
and on the outsides are the females.

Now the sides can fold and result in
the opening for the tissues.

Here I stitched 8 cm. closed on both sides.

Turned it inside out...

I stitched the side that doesn't have
the Velcro closed.

I used half the contents of the tissue box
 in the cover.

It slides in easier if you wrap plastic
around the bundle, with an opening on top..

Now have fun decorating!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Pocket Tissue Holder

I made some more pocket tissue covers,
this time in pretty pink.
15 is just the right number before I start seeing stars..

Anytime I have the chance to show off my
table cover, I take it!

This towel-stand didn't escape the paintbrush...
I love the green colour.

It seams that in April
we should sow some seeds.

I hope you have a wonderful week.
