Post Bag Bin and Box

Many ladies were asking, where I bought my material from
and the makers name.
First I wanted to show you some more things
I made with this material.

A bin and tissue cover...
Perfect for a boy's bedroom!

and a little heart to send across the world.

The world material and

the stamps material are from the same producers.

The stamps material is made in Spain, by Textiles Vilber, design number TV31269.
I found mine in Dubai...;)

The striped one has nothing written on it, so I don't know who made it.

I cut out the stamps and stitched them on the striped
material.
I hope the ladies that asked me for more information can find the
fabric, I sure had lots of fun making these items.
One lady suggested to cover a chair with this fabric, I will give it a try.

I hope you have a great week.
Hugs.

Going gaga over my Roses...

I would like to share my bouquet of roses,
I belief they are called 'Belinda's Dream Rose'.

'Belinda's Dream' was the result of a cross between
'Tiffany' and 'Jersey Beauty'.

 They smell is so sweet!
These days cut-roses don't smell anymore and
most of them don't even open..

I would like to thank all the ladies who visit me
and leave sweet comments.
You make my day.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs.

Post Bag Pillows

On the hunt for special materials I came across this yummy
striped heavy cotton and one with post-stamps, put the two together and voila...
Postbag cushions!

I liked it so much and wanted more... so the next day I went back to the store
only to find out, a few hours ago a lady bought the whole lot.
I never learn!

I did buy the remaining 7 yards of this world-map material.
It has a lot of pink in it...

So I made bolsters, a lot of them...
pillows and cushions.

I love the stamps...
Stop whining!!

This is my favorite pillow 80cm.x 38cm.
I squeezed all the stuffing of a pillow to one side and
stitched it in the length so it became long, narrow
and super stuffed.

Stacked...

What else could I make with this yummy material...
Bags! of course, just the way I like it, a long strap so I can wear it across my shoulder.

This was the first one and I lined it with heavy padded material.
I added a bit of lace on the sides,
but it is too heavy and stiff.

Lastly, I always misplace my glasses and mobile phone,
not anymore!

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Hugs.

Tissue Box Cover Tutorial

I use this tissue paper brand and it has 200 tissues in it so it's
quite high.
You can use any size box.
I put the box on a large card paper and drew around it, then tipped it onto it's right side,
followed the box contours and did the same on all sides.

Cut out along the lines.

Put the cut out pattern on quilted material and add one centimeter to
the sides for the seam.
For the bottom edge there is no need for a seam, because the top material
will fold over the ending.
Cut the outer material along the sides and leave two centimeters extra
for the bottom.

If you don't have quilted lining then you can use
wading and lining material = more work!
Stitch the four sides, marked with pencil, so the box will fit
perfectly.

Pin the seam and machine stitch around.

Mark where the tissue opening should be,
then zig zag a very tight, giant button hole.

I used a medium-hot iron to make nice folds on all sides.

If you like a simple tissue box without frills
then here is where you should stop.

Or just keep going...

I love this Toile!

Tissue Box Covers

The last two days I was like the Energizer  Bunny...
For a long time I didn't make any tissue box covers,
this time I had a request to make a few and I couldn't stop.

Here a romantic, sweet, frilly tissue box cover.
Cotton material and lace.

Purple corduroy, to match the cushions in the previous post.

Grey linen with cotton lace.

An other one to match the cushions of last post.

Rachel's inspired Union Jack design, I love this one.

mmm, I was looking for something English to display
the tissue box with... how about my dictionary!

Pink is always nice to play with,
plenty to find around my home.

This cupboard is waiting for a second layer, and waiting...

Grey linen with grey cotton lace.
I used a heavy linen and worked very well to make these box covers.

These were so easy to make so I think there shouldn't be any
bare boxes anymore!
The Tissue Box Tutorial is already up in my next post...
