Strasbourg

We are back from visiting our daughter in Strasbourg, France.
It was the first time to visit that beautiful city with all its
pretty old buildings and fine history.

There is a competition going on
for the best Christmas decorated shop.

There are 12 Christmas markets going on
around the city and the Cathedral market has been going on
since 1570...

Look at these amazing chandeliers!
The whole street was lined up with all different ones.

In the morning the market looks deserted
but in the evening it was difficult to walk and see the stalls.

The construction of the Cathedral started in
1176 to 1439 and it was the tallest building in the world
until 1874, at 142 meters it is now the sixth tallest church in the world.
The details are very impressive, I love old buildings.
All this made by hand....

Back again to Dubai and ready for work?
No! I have Christmas to shop for...

I hope you have a blessed Holiday with family and friends.
Hugs.

  3. Dearest Angela,

Wow, you got a daughter in Strasbourg! What an amazing city and those 'boxed' chandeliers are so special! All is great for this time of year.
To me Strasbourg does have a special meaning too: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2011/03/march-2-1809-and-my-french-connection.html

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and enjoy the great memories from time spent together.
