The tree is out of the box.

My tree is standing and dressed up with sugar sweet birds I found in the whole sale market. At this market I can't just buy one box, the minimum amount is 12 boxes, so here is the result..

My cat chewed up a few birds, that still leaves me with ten boxes..

We live three stories high in an apartment so in this picture he's enjoying the view. The poor cat has never left the house to walk on grass or chase real birds.
One day I hope to get a house with a garden, until then he stays at home.

I have three of these hanging from my lamps, I hope it holds...

Saturday I will be linking this post with  http://funkyjunkinteriors.blogspot.com/ Favorite things 2010.

New finds.

Yesterday I found this box with stamps, so vintage looking and pink.. the shops really know how to catch me, I had to have it... now back to writing letters so I can use the stamps.
I found them at 'Pottery-barn'.

I'll try to find ink-pads that can be used on material, so I can stamp gift bags or lavender sachets.

In the same shop I found these little plates, they look so nice with my old pocket-watches.

My inspiration comes from Shabby Chic and French style decoration books and lots, I mean LOTS, of magazines.

Fake flowers can still look nice, in Holland we used to have fresh flowers all around the house but here the flowers are very expensive, wilt in a few days and the buds never open so I get mine from SIA when on sale.

I just Love these...

O.K. last one...

I promise..

For now!

Sweet Babies.

How sweet this baby sleeps.. and if you're thinking my new grand-daughter is here, you would be wrong...
This is my baby doll, isn't she sweet?

Meet one of my 'Carlos' dolls and yes.. I got them at auction! they came with their original folkloric clothes which aren't shown in this photo, these are my gown and cap.

This I made today, a diaper stacker to match the previous set.

Christening Gown

Today I finished the gown, bonnet and bib.

I just love playing with lace, especially here in Dubai where I can have fun with it. This is mainly because there are plenty shops that sell it and the customers can't have enough of it, put together... I'm a happy bunny.

With this picture I used 'Photo Scape', a kind blogger http://marijkevanooijen.blogspot.com/  suggested to use it to make pictures look antique. These are the results.

Here is the bib and bonnet to match.

Sprinkles of Lavender

I am lucky to get my Lavender from France as my daughter's mother in law and her friend are blessed with lavender in their garden and were so kind to keep some for me, so I had a fresh batch in August.
When I am busy making these hearts and boots my whole house smells so nice and fresh for days.

The bodice of this little dress is filled with Lavender.

Here you can see the fine handwork that went into this vintage table cover.
I was lucky to find this one in a charity shop in Bath, England.

Here I wrapped up a small French soap, I will have to get more when I go next month.

I bought some flat pearls last time I went to Dragon Market, which is a mall that sells all things made in China.

These are from an auction a few years ago. Auctions are so thrilling, I sit there with a numbered paddle and get so exited that I usually buy things I don't really need, but the items are so nice and cheap and can't be left behind.

Frugal Friday party, be sure to come and visit.

I hope you all have a nice weekend and a happy Thanksgiving!
