Old and New Lace
I was glad to get a new order to cover a
pram with French Lace and Silk,
layers and layers of lace.
It is such a pleasure to work with
these lovely materials.
I'm half way done and once finished
I'll make more pictures.
In an antique shop in Strasbourg I found this
beautiful table runner and it had to be mine!
The handwork that went into making this
runner is amazing, so many different knots and stitches.
There are tiny rusty coloured stains
on it, but I can live with that.
My daughter with her perfect command
of French got the price down to 30 Euro,
lucky me!
Time...
Almost time
Time to ring in the New Year..
Almost

Today I'll be joining in with Cindy at
New Fabric
I love my new fabric with birds, flowers and prints.
It's a very busy pattern and shouldn't be used on it's own,
it would look nicer mixed in with plain cottons...
or placed far from each other, one on the bed and one on the chair.
I would like to wish all my blog friends a
Happy, Healthy and Inspired
New Year

Some more treasures
How pretty is this cupboard!
I saw it in a restaurant entrance, only a few drawers
were able to open the rest were fixed.
This is one of the Cathedral's side doors.
I love the details of the iron work.
Coming from Dubai, I loved the rain....
I'll take two of each, please...
These are molds for biscuits or plaster,
they are very detailed and I couldn't resist them.
I bought a few and will keep them in the drawer with all my other
future projects...
I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
Hugs.

Strasbourg
We are back from visiting our daughter in Strasbourg, France.
It was the first time to visit that beautiful city with all its
pretty old buildings and fine history.
There is a competition going on
for the best Christmas decorated shop.
There are 12 Christmas markets going on
around the city and the Cathedral market has been going on
since 1570...
Look at these amazing chandeliers!
The whole street was lined up with all different ones.
In the morning the market looks deserted
but in the evening it was difficult to walk and see the stalls.
The construction of the Cathedral started in
1176 to 1439 and it was the tallest building in the world
until 1874, at 142 meters it is now the sixth tallest church in the world.
The details are very impressive, I love old buildings.
All this made by hand....
Back again to Dubai and ready for work?
No! I have Christmas to shop for...
I hope you have a blessed Holiday with family and friends.
Hugs.

My Bags are Packed...
These are the last few pouches I made before
we travel.
Tomorrow night my daughter Nad and me are
going to Strasbourg to visit my eldest daughter
and her family.
The pictures I shall be posting will be a nice change
from my usual work...
New lace.. I can never have enough of that!
Lace on top of silk, sigh...
I hope you have a lovely week.
Hugs.
