O.K. last one...

I promise..

For now!

Sweet Babies.

How sweet this baby sleeps.. and if you're thinking my new grand-daughter is here, you would be wrong...
This is my baby doll, isn't she sweet?

Meet one of my 'Carlos' dolls and yes.. I got them at auction! they came with their original folkloric clothes which aren't shown in this photo, these are my gown and cap.

This I made today, a diaper stacker to match the previous set.

Christening Gown

Today I finished the gown, bonnet and bib.

I just love playing with lace, especially here in Dubai where I can have fun with it. This is mainly because there are plenty shops that sell it and the customers can't have enough of it, put together... I'm a happy bunny.

With this picture I used 'Photo Scape', a kind blogger http://marijkevanooijen.blogspot.com/  suggested to use it to make pictures look antique. These are the results.

Here is the bib and bonnet to match.

Sprinkles of Lavender

I am lucky to get my Lavender from France as my daughter's mother in law and her friend are blessed with lavender in their garden and were so kind to keep some for me, so I had a fresh batch in August.
When I am busy making these hearts and boots my whole house smells so nice and fresh for days.

The bodice of this little dress is filled with Lavender.

Here you can see the fine handwork that went into this vintage table cover.
I was lucky to find this one in a charity shop in Bath, England.

Here I wrapped up a small French soap, I will have to get more when I go next month.

I bought some flat pearls last time I went to Dragon Market, which is a mall that sells all things made in China.

These are from an auction a few years ago. Auctions are so thrilling, I sit there with a numbered paddle and get so exited that I usually buy things I don't really need, but the items are so nice and cheap and can't be left behind.

Frugal Friday party, be sure to come and visit.

I hope you all have a nice weekend and a happy Thanksgiving!

A yummy Moses Basket

This Moses Basket is so sweet it gives me a tooth ache just looking at it..

The skirt is attached with Velcro and can easily be taken off.

These days it takes me much longer to make anything, my mind has already taken off to France, I'm traveling on the 5th of December and can't wait.. but I still have to make a Christening gown, bib and hat to match for my last order.

Super soft cotton for the blanket with ... lace!

Here is a picture without the skirt.

Tomorrow I have to think of a nice post on Cindy's blog for Show and Tell.
To post it early I have to set my alarm clock for 05:45 because of the time difference and sit there with my finger on the key... and then go back to bed, *yawn*!

Global Village

Every year in Dubai we have a festival of shopping... most shops have big discounts during this time. There is 'Global Village', a gathering of many counties displaying and selling their crafts and food.
I love the food in the Thai pavilion, Tom-Yum soup and the fried shrimps are my favorite, after which we go and look at all the stalls.

This photo was taken at the African pavilion where they have lots of handy-crafts.
The weather is getting so nice now so we'll go there often. Going there is great exercise, as we usually spend hours just walking and taking it all in.

Take two..

How sweet to be expecting a twin boy and girl, I wish my customers would send me some pictures with the babies inside the pouches.

The details of the front panel show best in blue.

Pretty Faces

Today I would like to share with you the pretty faces that peek from my tables and shelves.
Most of these I bought at auctions in Holland, I usually time my holidays to coincide with them, hitting two birds with one stone.

My daughters call my baby doll a ‘creepy doll’…  it's German and has ‘Putnam’ written on the back of its head. It came in a box with some other toys, it's fun to bid on boxes, you get the good with the bad.

These pretty angels sit on top of a mirror, it's hard to find the maker of it, all I can find is the letter ‘H’.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
