How to cover a lampshade the easy way...




Today I'd like to share with you an easy way to cover a small lampshade.
I had a few lamp frames made out of metal wire and I would like to show you how I covered them using some decorative ribbon and a bit of lace.



With the glue gun fix the beginning of the ribbon on the frame, again half way and keep winding until fully covered.






Glue a nice trim onto the top and bottom edge to keep the ribbon in place.
Then glue some lace trimming or flowers anyway you like on the shade to decorate.




With or without flowers.



Today I went to the souk to buy a few buttons.... and over did it again, buttons would look nice on a lamp shade.




Some cute cotton buttons and lace.

    Fabulous - thanks for sharing, Ive got a vintage floor lamp coming to me which i need a lampshade for so I might be brave and try doing it myself with your instructions :o) Scarlett x

    so many comments I have to ask due to my lack of time to read through them all. I was wondering about the temperature of the lightbulb and the fabric? most lampshades have some kind of coating/styrene inside so would you recommend adding styrene or since they are single lights with minimal wattage will it be safe without it? thanks in advance

      I was wondering the same thing. I'm betting that low wattage bulbs are ok, but frankly, I wouldn't chance it in my house.
