New Baby Bed

I would like to show you my
new Baby Bed with Butterflies..
Wrought Iron, solid beauty,
covered with cotton material on the inside
and ivory silk on the outside, held up
by twelve silk bows.

This design softly swings...
I love this bed!

I used organza material for the canopy
and sprinkled on some butterflies.

Here it shows how the bed can swing.

I added eight layers of cotton lace
to the bottom of the bedding.

In this picture you can see how big the bed is.

Layers and layers of frills...

Even the legs are pretty..
The man that makes my beds is a true artist!

I got the idea for my new bed from
 a picture I saw in a magazine.
An antique baby bed with butterflies on the wall.

Baby Pillows

One of my favorite things to make are
Baby carry pillows.

This one is so sweet with three layers
                                                    of lace all around.

I make them with loose inserts so
they can be easily washed.
On this one I used cotton lace.

A perfect match!

I hope you have a great weekend.

A touch of purple

The days are flying by..
so much to do and so little time.
Last week I finished these cushions
to match the cover I made before.

This cushion measures 70 x 70 cm...

I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Dear Grandmas and Grandpas

 The computer swallowed grandma.
Yes, honestly it’s true!
She pressed 'control' and 'enter'
And disappeared from view.
It devoured her completely,
The thought just makes me squirm.
She must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.
I've searched through the recycle bin
And files of every kind;
I've even used the Internet,
But nothing did I find.

In desperation, I asked Jeeves
My searches to refine.
The reply from him was negative,
Not a thing was found 'online.'
So, if inside your 'Inbox,'
My Grandma you should see,
Please 'Copy, Scan' and  'Paste' her
And send her back to me.

This is a tribute to all  the Grandmas and Grandpas
who have been fearless and learned to use the computer.........
They are the  greatest!!!

We do not stop playing because we grow old;
We grow old because we stop playing  ....

NEVER Be The First To Get Old!

Today we have some Purple...

I love how this Moses basket turned out!
A splash of purple makes this one stand out..

I changed the design of the curtain a bit.
I added the layers of lace at the bed's level.
The request was to make the curtain so
that it can later be used over the
babies crib.

This Moses basket has a hood.

This blanket looks antique, it's made of
super soft cotton.

Winter time in Dubai...
Sun with a temperature of 24 Celsius..

I made a bed cover to match the set..
I didn't have any purple sheets
so I used my blue covers and pillows.

The pillows are ready made...

Here I used two different kinds of lace
for the main cover.
Then I added four different layers
of lace to the edges.

Two pillow covers.

Ooh! I so fell in love
with this new material...
Silk roses and it feels so soft.

I bought one yard and I will make a
baby pouch from it for a try,
but I'm sure I'll go back for more...
Pillows next!

I hope you have a Wonderful, Happy
and Healthy New Year!

My New Carpet

I love it when my daughters ask me
'What would you like for Christmas?'

I knew exactly what and where to get it from...
This beautiful carpet was on my mind for a long time
and Global Village was the place!

The carpet is handmade, cross stitched with wool.
I am so happy with it.
Thank you girls!

Today I finished making these
chair pad covers for my dining chairs.
I seldom make things for me to keep,
these are staying!

My new carpet is for my living room
but the lighting there is bad, so I
drag all my items to the bedroom where the
light is perfect for pictures.

I love my new romantic chair pads..

Happy Holidays!

Sweet Moses Basket

Back to work...
Today I finished this pretty Moses Basket
for a sweet little girl.

I used the softest cotton to line the basket.

Off white with a touch of pink.
This design is great because the pink is
easily removed to make way for any other colour.

I used my precious SIA flowers on this crown.

So very sweet and the little princess
is already waiting.
