Moses Basket with blue detail

Back to work!  Babies wait for no one...

After my holiday I had to catch up with my orders.

This off white Moses basket is a favorite model,

I still enjoy making them, they look so fresh and crisp.

I used cotton with a little fleur de lis pattern 

for the base and bedding,

then added many layers of lace.

I always fix a heavy cotton band to the handles

and bottom to secure the basket,

then hide the band with cotton lace.

Brocante Finds

I am always on the hunt to find lace...

and French Brocante markets are the perfect places 

to find handmade ones.

This one is a long pillow case with small buttons at the back

and lace at the sides to pull ribbon through.

I love the initials E.R.

Crisp linen and cotton stacks of napkins with  

hand embroidered initials

I just can not resist...

I found this cute baby bib and bonnet.

The icing on the cake is this pretty cover...

it is about two meters long and one meter wide.

The lady explained that this kind of embroidery was used for 

the bride's new home.

A few meters of grey and yellow trim...

I have no idea on what to use it 

but for 2 Euro's I couldn't leave it.

Pretty blue and white napkins can be transformed 

into cushions...

Last but not least this lovely curtain.

What will I do with all my finds was asked 

many times...

I won't cut them up, I will just keep them

tucked away and once in a while take them out 

and admire all the hard work someone's hands has put into them.

Crochet Flower

I found this amazing crochet book

full of patterns to make flowers and other designs.

I like to use the flowers on my cushions 

and baby blankets.

The only crochet pattern I can follow is the one below.

If anyone has a crochet pattern to make baby socks

A few holiday pictures

I would like to share some holiday pictures

with you...

For the first week we rented an apartment

right on the d'Ardeche river. 

The view was amazing!

To my surprise, 

in the street below, there was a market...

Fresh fruit galore!

LAVENDER!!!!

In one of the villages we visited an 

 art market and my grand daughters

tried their hands on pottery..

They have grown so much in the half year

that I haven't seen them.

I was lucky to find the lavender fields

still in bloom.

Usually they start the harvest about this time.

Driving along the narrow streets without

any barriers to keep cars from plunging down

is quite scary...

So many pictures to go through yet...

Pink and Blue Baby Beds

The time before my travel was quite hectic,

I had a lots of orders pending and had no time 

to post and boast...

Now back from my holiday, all relaxed and ready to go...
