More Chic than Shabby

Looking up the word 'Shabby' isn't a very nice definition.
So I chose Chic rather than Shabby...
I wonder why we like to refer to our style as
Shabby Chic?

Two pouches for two ladies both expecting girls.

This is my favorite one, so girly and sweet.
I enjoy my work more if I have a free hand in choosing
the materials and lace.
I'll be glad to finish the orders and make new designs
and be creative.

Hugs.

Victorian Style Holders.

Today I made these baby diaper and wet wipes holders,
to keep in the baby bag.
Very frilly with Velvet and Moire materials, velvet flowers and
lots of lace.

This one is to keep diapers in.

And this one is for wet wipes.

You'll never guess what this is for....

Hidden away under the oval flap is the
opening of the tissue box.

Here a cute little bolster, the insert can be removed
from either side, I closed it with a bow.

The back has lace pockets, you can never have too
many of those...
unless you can never remember where you put
the safety pins or car keys...

This crochet lace looks like handwork,
but it isn't..

This is the back of the wet wipes.

Here are some ooh's...

and ahh's...

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Frills on wheels...

My latest project was a joy to make.
Crisp white cotton and French lace.

Background thanks to the Graphics Fairy

I had to paint the wheels gold.

The request was to use French lace, I haven't used
it before and found it to be very delicate and fragile.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend

Baby Pillows

Here are a few items I was busy with this week.
I am a bit late with my work these days and that's a problem
when making baby items...
Today I finished two pillows for a new baby boy.

These are pillow covers with a separate padded insert.

This is a cape to wear in bed to cover up
when guests come to visit the new mum.

This is a lacy small bolster I made a while ago
and I want to show it to you again just in case you haven't seen it...

I stitched an oval material with a cherub
and lots of lace onto an IKEA bolster.
Nice and easy...

This cotton bolster will be used to prevent a new born baby
from rolling over.

All in a day's work.

I hope you have a wonderful week.
Hugs.

Victorian style cushions.

I was asked to make a few "Victorian" style cushions.
Before the Shabby Chic style, I used to make a lot of these
dark and heavy material items, from pillows to bed covers.

I used moire and silk material for these cushions.

I'm really glad I have switched to light floral cottons
and lots of whites.

Flower Fairies Tote.

Instead of wrapping up the new books for
my granddaughter, I thought it would be better to
make a cute tote to keep them in.

I found this sweet flower fairy material the other day
and it matched perfectly with this pink toile.

My youngest daughter is traveling tonight
to visit her sister in Strasbourg, she moved there
from Lyon, I can't wait to see her new place.
The official seat of the European parliament is in Strasbourg
and the English language is widely spoken there.
It will be so helpful for me....
I don't speak a word of French, I tried with cd's in the car but
nothing sticks.

We bought a few children's books
and I just love that bunny book.

xoxox

I wish I could travel too.
I will go and see them in December, Yay....
